Central Maine Health Care joins Maine Community Health Options’ Preferred Provider Network

LEWISTON, Maine — Maine Community Health Options and Central Maine Health Care recently announced their collaborative partnership to provide people with comprehensive, patient-centered care. This is one of many managed care agreements Maine Community Health Options is developing as it assembles a comprehensive statewide, proprietary network of preferred providers.

“This partnership reflects the style in which Maine Community Health Options has approached its network development: a collaborative partnership model that supports delivery system transformation,” stated Kevin Lewis, chief executive officer of Maine Community Health Options. “We are very pleased to contract with Central Maine Healthcare as an important part of our network. CMH brings valued clinical outcomes and community relationships that are essential to the nonprofit mission and purpose of Maine Community Health Options. In partnership with our provider network and plan members, we will reduce healthcare costs by improving access to care with a focus on best practice and care integration, and by supporting community resources to promote the health and wellbeing of our members.”

“This partnership will ensure the people of our community receive the best possible care at a reasonable cost as we head into a new age of healthcare,” Peter Chalke, Central Maine Healthcare president and chief executive officer noted. “We want to work with Maine Community Health Options because we believe they will be in our community for the long haul.”
