CASTLETON, VT – The Thomas College men’s soccer team shut out Castleton University, 2-0, in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) contest on Sunday afternoon.

In the victory, the Terriers remain unbeaten in NAC competition and move to 8-3-1 (6-0 NAC) while the Spartans drop to 4-6-2 (4-2 NAC).  Sophomore Adam LaBrie tallied both goals for the Terriers to bring his 2016 total to ten, placing him second in the conference.

The Terriers got on the board in the 10th minute as a crossing pass into the box from DJ Nicholas found a wide open LaBrie.  LaBrie one-timed the pass into the Spartan goal for a 1-0 lead.

A majority of the game held back-and-forth play with both teams creating opportunities.  The Terriers put the game away in the final two minutes of play as LaBrie notched his second of the game on a ball from Willie Clemons, finishing the scoring at 2-0.

Junior Drew Martin held Castleton scoreless with four saves in the victory while Dan Palker turned aside four shots for the Spartans.  Thomas outshot Castleton 20-9 throughout the contest and held an 8-4 advantage in corners.
