At the Augusta Civic Center, No. 6 Skowhegan outscored No. 3 Mt. Blue 20-5 in the third quarter and went on to post the win in overtime in the EM Class A quarterfinal behind a 27-point effort by Amanda Johnson.
Johnson scored 14 of her 27 points in the second half and five in overtime to lead the rally for the 12-7 Indians, who advanced to Wednesday’s semifinal round. Adriana Martineau added 11 points.
Other Skowhegan scorers included Cheyenne Malloy (one), Chelsea Whittemore (seven), Natasha Thompson (six), Taylor Johnson (two) and Andrea Quirion (two).
Gabrielle Foy paced 12-7 Mt. Blue of Farmington with 17 points and Miranda Nicely added 12. Also scoring were Jaycee Mullen (six), Corinne Dingley (four), MaKenzie Conlogue (six) and Adrianna Brinkman (one).
