At Lincoln, sophomore forward Kyle Bouchard scored 26 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead undefeated Houlton to a 68-21 Class C boys basketball victory over Mattanawcook Academy on Saturday afternoon.
Houlton, an Eastern Maine Class C finalist last winter, is now 5-0 this season with a rivalry game scheduled for Wednesday night at home against Class D contender Hodgdon.
Mattanawcook Academy dips to 1-4.
Houlton spotted the Lynx a 3-1 lead on a 3-pointer by Aaron Goodine 75 seconds into the game, then scored 19 unanswered points to take control.
Bouchard scored 11 points during the opening period as the Shiretowners built a 20-5 lead and finished the first half with 19 points.
Daniel Howe came off the Houlton bench to add 13 points — including three 3-pointers — while senior forward Dan Swallow had eight points and nine rebounds for coach Rob Moran’s club.
Freshman Gunner Maxwell led Mattanawcook Academy with six points. The youthful Lynx were playing without junior forward Trysten Pelkey, sidelined by illness.
