Colby Men's college basketball 83 at Thomas 70

WATERVILLE, ME – The Thomas College men’s basketball team could not overcome a 15-point first half deficit as they fell to Colby, 83-70, in a non-conference matchup on Tuesday.

In the loss, the Terriers fall to .500 early in the season at 2-2 while the Mules stay unbeaten at 3-0.

The Mules came out scoring early in the first half as they pulled out to a 27-14 lead.  Eleven points from Patrick Stewart and ten more from Ronan Schwarz kept the Terriers out of striking distance.

Jordan Derosby chipped in with ten first half points as the Mules entered the break with a 47-32 lead on 51.6 percent shooting.

Tyheem Simon got the Terriers within six points at the 12:15 mark but his 24 second half points were not enough as the Mules pulled away to an 83-70 victory.

Stewart finished with a team-high 19 points to lead the Mules offense while Shwarz finished with 14 points and three rebounds.

Simon led all scorers with his third straight 20-point game on 26 points, six rebounds, and four assists.  Derosby finished with 11 points and six rebounds in the defeat.
