Ten Bucks Theatre Presents: The Tempest, by William Shakespeare
The Tempest is full of contrasting themes: comedy and drama, reality and illusion, freedom and domination, natural beauty and inhospitable terrain, revenge and the capacity to forgive.
Stranded on an island far out to sea Prospero, former Duke of Milan plots revenge against those who usurped his throne. 12 long years pass and finally a ship baring his enemies appears on the horizon.
Using the studied art of magic Prospero bids his airy spirit Ariel to cause a great tempest. The ship runs aground and those aboard find themselves on an enchanted isle where they are forced to examine themselves and their actions in order to stay alive.
The Tempest with its laughter and tears, magic, romance and political intrigue is great theatre for the entire family. Come join us for Shakespeare Under the Stars: The Tempest.
