Senior Center invites public to Maine Seniors Day breakfast

BANGOR, Maine — This summer the official Maine Seniors Day, signed into law by the governor, was announced. Hammond Street Senior Center invites the public of all ages for breakfast 8-10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 13, at the center to celebrate.

Representative Richard Campbell, sponsor of the bill, will read the proclamation at 8:15 a.m. Joining him will be David Nealley, creator of Maine Seniors Day and publisher of Maine Seniors  Magazine.

Volunteers will serve breakfast. The cost is $8. Tickets are available in advance or at the door, reservations are not required. Tickets also may be purchased 8:15 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday at the Hammond Street Senior Center, 2 Hammond St.

Funds raised from the breakfast will support the activities the center.
