BREWER, Maine — Penobscot Community Health Care will be hosting a medication take-back and brown bag day at Brewer Medical Center on March 19th. The Brewer Police Department will be on hand from 9am-1pm to take back unwanted and expired medications so they may be disposed of safely. Pharmacy staff, residents, and students will be available from 9am-3pm offering “brown-bag” checks where they discuss medication safety with patients and sort out any potential barriers they may be having with medication adherence.

The event is free and open to the public. Those wishing to sign up for a “brown-bag” meeting to review medications are asked to call 989-1567 for an appointment. No appointment is necessary to drop off unwanted or expired medications.
