Maine Huts & Trails Presents Guest Chef Night with David Turin

Tickets are now on sale for the 3rd Guest Chef Night of 2012 at Maine Huts & Trails. The event will take place on Saturday, September 22nd at the Flagstaff Hut and feature the culinary expertise of Chef David Turin of David’s Monument Square in Portland and David’s 388 in South Portland. The evening begins at 5:00 pm with hors d’oeuvres and dinner begins at 6:00 pm and will include four courses, each paired with wines artfully selected to complement the plate.

David Turin is an award-winning Maine chef and restaurant owner. Most recently Turin was one of two restaurateurs awarded the Culinary Excellence Award for the second quarter of 2012 by the International Food, Wine and Travel Writers Association. He was also named Maine Chef of the Year by the Maine Restaurant Association.

Tickets are $150 a person for a shared bunkroom at the Flagstaff Hut and $250 a person or $450 a couple for a private bunkroom. Tickets include the gourmet dinner, wines, lodging and a full American breakfast the next morning, plus access to all activities offered on a daily basis at Maine Huts & Trails. Proceeds from this event will benefit the organization’s non-profit mission.

Turin’s Guest Chef Night menu for the 22nd includes fish, meats, and intermezzos, among a variety of warm and cold hors d’oeuvres, desserts and other exotic pairings. Space is limited and reservations are required and can be made by calling (877) 634-8824.

Open year-round, Maine Huts & Trails is located at 496 Maine Street in Kingfield, Maine and is currently made up of three huts (Flagstaff, where Guest Chef Night will be held, Poplar and Grand Falls), with a fourth opening in early 2013. All huts feature best-in-class amenities and offer a variety of unique special events and activities such as hiking, mountain biking, boating, fishing, skiing, and snowshoeing.
