(Bangor, Me)- Rosscare is proud to acknowledge that May is Older Americans Month, celebrating the vitality and aspirations of older adults and their contributions to our community.
We salute the older Americans that have enriched our lives as active and engaged members in our community. “During this month, consider thanking an older adult in your life that has given of themself to make your community a better place to live,” says Amy Cotton, FNP, EMHS Continuum of Care, director of Operations and Senior Service Quality.
The United States Administration on Aging has chosen “Unleash the Power of Age” as the theme for this year’s recognition. Through this theme, we recognize that older Americans are productive, active, and influential members of society, sharing essential talents, wisdom, and life experience with their families, friends, and neighbors.
The Administration on Aging developed Older Americans Month in 1963 as a time to pay tribute to the contributions of past and current older Americans
and to raise awareness of the needs of this population to live a healthy, enriching life.
