LEWISTON, Maine — Kevin Lewis, CEO of Maine Community Health Options (MCHO), announced that Deidre DeRoche has joined the organization as an outreach and education specialist.
MCHO is a nonprofit that will provide affordable health insurance to Maine people and small businesses beginning in January 2014. Organized as a Consumer Operated and Oriented Plan (CO-OP), MCHO’s mission is to provide high-quality benefits that promote health and wellbeing.
DeRoche has more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry. She has served as network representative at Martin’s Point Healthcare, provider relations manager at Medical Network, and short-term disability analyst at Aetna. Her experiences in the field of healthcare make her well-suited for her new role, in which she will assist in MCHO’s statewide outreach and education efforts. She believes that MCHO’s approach to health insurance is revolutionary and will provide necessary change in Maine.
DeRoche expressed that she is excited and energized by MCHO’s vision and goals and is eager to tackle the challenges ahead. “I am proud to be a part of this effort,” she said.
DeRoche is a native of Scarborough, and a lifelong resident of Maine.
Maine Community Health Options is a Consumer Operated and Oriented Plan (CO-OP) created through a program of the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). MCHO is a private, nonprofit entity governed by a customer-based board of directors, which gives enrollees a strong voice in the management and development of the plan.
