PORTLAND, Maine — The Iris Network has announced that Aisha Hixon and Kathy Weymouth, vision rehabilitation therapists, are members of the team that won the 2013 Teamwork Award given by the Maine State Department of Labor. The official award recipient is the Division for the Blind and Visually Impaired Region 3, which covers the Augusta and Rockland areas.

The ability to offer services in combination to clients resulted in a ground-breaking program that offered one full day of classes for five consecutive weeks. This focused effort enabled clients to measurably attain their overall program goals more quickly.

The full complement of winning team members included Linda LaPlante, Carolyn Miville, Annette Tilsley, Kathleen Bagley, Coretta Cooper, Shannon Burns, Jessica Cavanaugh from DBVI and contracted partners Kathy Weymouth, Aisha Hixon, Rosemary Houghton, Nancy Peavy, and Karen Cote.
