BELFAST, Maine — Along with many other galleries in downtown Belfast, Maine Farmland Trust Gallery will be hosting a show of small works by local artists in order to support shopping locally for holiday gifts. Better yet, at Maine Farmland Trust a large portion of any sale goes directly towards farmland preservation.
This year, the line-up of Maine artists includes Laurie Lofman Bellmore, Julie Crane, Adele Drake, Elizabeth Fraser, Leslie Harris, Lynn Karlin, Christopher O’Connor, Kathleen Perelka, Lea Peterson, Willy Reddick, Charlotte Sawtelle, Leia Scotton, Jude Valentine, Becky Whight and Sarah Wilde. Together these artists offer a wide variety of work, such as paintings, pastels, photography, jewelry, silk scarves & more. The Trust also has a lovely collection of farm-oriented children’s books, cook books, calendars, CD’s and Holiday cards – available at our gallery in Belfast and soon online.
There will be two festive evenings open to the public: first, an opening reception Friday November 15, from 5:30-8pm, to accommodate early holiday shopping; and second, a festive Belfast Art Walk “Christmas Art Spectacle” on Friday December 6, 5:30-8pm.
The show will be on display from Nov. 15 -Jan. 7, 2014.
The MFT Gallery, located at 97 Main Street in Belfast, is open Monday through Friday from 9am – 4pm. More information can be found at www.mainefarmlandtrustgallery.org
