Seashore Trolley Museum set out to shake up its slate of events in 2013, and Christmas Prelude is no exception. With new kid-oriented activities and lots of free parking, dog-friendly Seashore Trolley Museum offers a relaxing Prelude venue for the whole family – even Fido.
The Visitor Center is open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, December 6-8 and 13-15; Friday hours are noon to 4 and weekends are 10 to 4. As is traditional, there will be rides on heated streetcars from 1 to 3:30 on Fridays, and from 10 to 3:30 on Saturday and Sundays, and complimentary refreshments all day every day.
Kids will enjoy listening to stories read aloud on a streetcar throughout the day on both Saturdays and Sundays, and they can read stories to Trace, a licensed Therapy Dog, in the Visitor Center on both Saturday mornings.
Afternoon Christmas karaoke on both Saturdays and Sundays is fun for all ages.
On Saturday the 7th, from 11 am to 3 pm, an Ambassador Horse from Ever After Mustang Rescue will be here to remind everyone of the historic relationship between horses and early streetcars.
The Museum Store offers a lot of new and reasonably-priced toys as well as books and collectibles.
Tickets for the holiday trolley ride are $6.00 per person. Admission to the Museum Store and Visitor Center is free.
The museum is at 195 Log Cabin Road, Kennebunkport, ME. The full event schedule is posted on the home page at Trolleymuseum.org.
