EASTBROOK, Maine — Auditions for the Children’s Stage Adventures production of “The Fisherman and His Wife” will be held from 8:30-10:30 a.m. Monday, March 5, at the Cave Hill School.

Approximately 50 children, grades kindergarten through 8, will be cast to appear in the show with CSA actors/educators Chandra Diesel and Nichole Jones. There is no guarantee that everyone who auditions will be cast in the play. A chorus will be open to children not cast in the play so that everyone has a part.

The performances will take place on Friday, March 9, 2012 at 12:30pm and 6:00pm in the school gymnasium. Admission is by donation. T-shirts will also be available for sale.

Children planning to audition should arrive by the scheduled starting time and plan to stay for the entire two-hour session. No advanced preparation is necessary to take part in the auditions.

Rehearsals will be conducted from 9-11 a.m. and 12:30-2:30p.m. every day of the week prior to performances. Although not all cast members will be needed at every session, those auditioning must have a clear schedule for the entire week, and if selected, be able to attend all rehearsals for their role. A detailed rehearsal schedule will be distributed at the conclusion of the auditions.

The first rehearsal will begin about 30 minutes after the auditions. Approximately 10 children will need to stay for this important first rehearsal.

Chandra Diesel, from Stuart, VA, and Nicole Jones, from Windham, NH, will be the team of Actor/Educators from Children’s Stage Adventures. This is the team’s first tour together though both have extensive tour backgrounds with CSA and working with children in theatre.

2011 – ’12 is Children’s Stage Adventures thirteenth year touring the northeast with 60+ residencies scheduled. Based in Sullivan, NH, CSA is a non-profit organization supported in part by charitable donations. This coming year hundreds of cast members will take to the stage to the delight and applause of their families, friends, communities, neighbors and teachers.

The residency in Eastbrook is made possible by the CSO, the Fast Track Grant Program of the Maine Community Foundation, and a private donor. Come out and support the youth of your community while enjoying a great show.
