The Aroostook County Knights of Columbus are holding the 2nd Annual Polar Dip for Special

Olympics on March 24,2013 at the Sporting Club Restaurant in Sinclair, Maine. This is to be the first of

what is hoped will be an annual event. Proceeds will benefit the Aroostook County Chapter of the

Special Olympics of Maine. Participation is open to all individuals and organizations. Participation

paperwork is available for download from www.aroostookknights.org/2013-polar-dip-for-specialolympics/

Participants are reporting very strong pledge drives and dippers are traveling from all areas of the

state to enjoy the chilly waters of Long Lake. Mike Plourde of Fort Kent, last year’s top dipper has just

surpassed $1700 of pledges and is still going strong, a testament to the generosity of the people of

Northern Maine.

Participants who raise at least $50.00 will be eligible for a special T-shirt commemorating their

involvement as a dipper. Registration will be from 11-12pm on the day of the event and the CHILLING

will begin promptly at 12pm. More information can be found at the Aroostook County Website at

www.aroostookknights.org or by contacting Duane Belanger at (207) 951-2874.
