OLD TOWN — Move through the forest with confidence knowing how to identify the leave less trees in winter.
Under the guidance of Maine Master Naturalist Larry Beauregard you learn key identification features of the most prominent/useful trees, among them birches. You have the opportunity to create your own ID booklet during this session with the tree(s) of your choice. You may want to expand on it in the future!
BYO lunch which we will augment with seasonal foods we find on our walk.
The program will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 11. Tiered ticket pricing, $35/$45/$55. Partial Scholarships available. The location is the Pine Tree parking area, accessible through Gate 1. The Hirundo Wildlife Refuge, Gate 1, Parker Reed Shelter, 1107 West Old Town Road.
