STOCKTON SPRINGS – Coastal Mountains Land Trust will hold a nature program on the browntail moth 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, at Stockton Springs Library, 6 Station St. Hear more about this invasive forest pest that continues to expand its range in Maine bringing with it human health impacts.
Presenter Tom Schmeelk is an entomologist with the Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry through the Maine Forest Service Insect & Disease Lab. His info session includes an overview of the moth’s biology, history in Maine, and updates on current browntail range/areas at risk.
Coastal Mountains Land Trust has worked since 1986 to permanently conserve land to benefit the natural and human communities of the western Penobscot Bay. The Land Trust manages over 12,000 acres and maintains 45 miles of permanent trails for public access.
