NEWPORT — The National Weather Service will hold a winter spotter training 5:30-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, at 21 Water St. Storm spotters report snowfall, ice accumulation, ice jam flooding and coastal flood erosion during Maine’s long harsh winters. Spotter training will teach you how to accurately measure and report significant winter weather phenomenon. This event is free and open to the public.
