Bangor Area Recovery Network to hold National Recovery Month celebration ‘Together We Are Stronger’

BREWER — The Bangor Area Recovery Network host a day-long celebration in honor of National Recovery Month 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at 142 Center St.

 The event will feature the Pieces of Recovery Puzzle Project, a collection of stories of recovery, each created by someone in recovery.  The creator of the project, Glenn Simpson, will share his story of recovery and the puzzle at roughly 12 p.m.

The event will also include a “Dunk Your Favorite Law Enforcement Officer fundraiser”, featuring members of the Bangor and Brewer Police Departments, Probation and Parole, and in the afternoon, Sheriff Troy Morton will spend some time in the dunk tank, in uniform.  Y

The entire day, a collaboration with Young People in Recovery, and Food AND Medicine, will have fun and games, food and even a pie auction.

The Bangor Area Recovery Network (BARN) provides low barrier recovery resources to those in Eastern and Central Maine.  Our mission is to provide a sustainable and reliable community recovery center that supports the needs of people affected by addiction.
