PORTLAND — Hospice of Southern Maine will hold “Twilight in the Park” 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at Deearing Oaks Park, Park Avenue.
The official program will begin at 6:30 p.m., however we welcome you to come early for the lighting of the luminarias, which will take place at 5:45 p.m.
Imagine thousands of luminarias glowing warmly at dusk; each light representing someone who has brought love and light into our lives. Each luminaria will be personalized with the name of a loved one who has died, or to honor a special person in your life today.
There is public parking along the three streets that border the Park — Deering Avenue, Park Avenue, and State Street — as well as in the Hadlock Field/King Middle School parking lot on Deering Avenue, and along King Court Road inside the Park. A few handicapped parking spaces will be available at the event site, along Farmers Market Road.
