BUCKSPORT — Bucksports Wednesday on Main will hold “Music for Kids and Art for Seniors!” 5:30-7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, at Lighthouse Arts Education Center, 86 Main St.
Enjoy light bites and wine at the beautiful Lighthouse Arts Education Center’s gallery and waterfront patio – music by KahunaKAM Band – and your donations will benefit scholarships and underwriting for The Waldo County Tech Center’s Music Program and LAE’s new Art Education for Seniors Program.
Meet Tim Woitowitz, rocker extraordinaire, liaison with The Waldo County Technical Center Music Program, in partnership with Husson College, whose new Audio Engineering & Sound Reinforcement Program at the center will offer students training in the fields of sound, recording and more. This program will be available to students in all communities and provide the training to enter advanced educational programs. And meet Kevin Michaud, director, Waldo County Technical Center – who just happens to be in the band.
Meet Sadie Personeni, executive director of Lighthouse Arts & Education, and Catherine Ring, visual art teacher and board member, who will be co-leading the Senior Art Program. This program, which will be free, will be dedicated to the discovery, development and promotion of creative art making with senior citizens.
The event is free, but donations are appreciated.
