BLUE HILL — The Shaw Institute will hold a talk with  Dimitri Smirnoff, biologist and Biomimicry educator,  “More Good Not Less Harm: Advancing Sustainability with Biomimicry” 5:30-7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, at 55 Main St.

Termite skills have inspired sustainable building design, mosquitoes have helped create a better hypodermic needle, and dolphins are teaching us to perfect underwater signaling. Find out what wind turbines, Japanese bullet trains and a prosthetic limb have in common.

Join us for the 2019 Environmental Speaker Series. This season’s theme is “Planet In Crisis: Agents of Change.”
