Citizen’s initiatives and people’s vetoes are important avenues for Maine voters. But how do they work? Are there too many of them? Are they reflective of the entire state?
Jacob Posik is the communications director at the Maine Heritage Policy Center, having previously been a policy analyst at the organization. He is a graduate of the University of Maine with a major in political science and a minor in Maine studies. He is also editor of The Maine Wire, a Maine Heritage media project.
Carroll Conley, Jr. has been the executive director of the Christian Civic League of Maine since 2010. He previously served as the headmaster of Bangor Christian Schools, was president of the Northeast Principal’s Association and was on the Executive Committee of the Maine Principal’s Association. His organization has been involved in several people’s veto campaigns.
