ORONO — The 73rd annual Orono- Old Town Kiwanis Auction will be held 7 p.m. July 18-20, at 168 Outer Forest Ave. Doors open at 5 p.m. each night.
Great buys await those who venture into the Kiwanis barns and auction area in search of furniture, books, toys, kitchen goods, collectibles, bicycles, other sporting goods, gift certificates from local businesses and much more. Hot dogs will be sizzling on the grill as well as some other refreshment options available.
Proceeds from the volunteer-run auction will help the Kiwanis Club support community groups and projects such as college scholarships for two local students, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Crossroads Ministry, the Orono and Old Town libraries, other community libraries, local school clubs, community youth sports teams, the Old Town-Orono YMCA, Dirigo Boys and Girls States, Old Town Riverfest, Relay for Life, the Special Olympics, EMMC Cancer Care, Camp Sunshine, Camp Capella and LifeFlight of Maine.
The first night of the auction will kick off with the traditional cannon blast that marks the opening of the gates and the race to locate the very best treasures in the barns.
