FREEPORT — The Rotary Club of Portland and Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Maine are joining efforts for the eighth annual Maine Outdoor Challenge June 1012. This unique event is an opportunity for friends and colleagues to participate in clay target shooting, fly casting, archery, and more. L.L. Bean staff provide training and support and there is no experience necessary.

Each team participates for just one of the three days for three hours. Team registration is $1,000, or a commitment to raise funds totaling a minimum of $1,500 (or both). The event concludes with a lobster bake, live auction, and an awards ceremony on June 12, at Yarmouth AmVets Hall.

All event proceeds benefit the programs and services provided by the Rotary Club of Portland and Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Maine. Portland Rotarians provide local students with scholarships and mentoring. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Maine serve nearly 3,000 youth each year among five clubhouses.
