DIXMONT — The Dixmont Conservation Commission will hold a spring bird walk 7:30-9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 18, at Old County Road South. Open to all ages and levels of birding experience.
Learn to identify the birds you see and hear in your yard, field or woodlot. Brush up on your spring bird ID or just enjoy a morning through the fields and forest. Please wear sturdy walking shoes or boots. Bring binoculars and field guides if you have them, but there will be extras to share.
Directions: From intersection of Rte 9/202 and Kennebec Road (Orcutt’s Variety on corner) in Dixmont, go 2.9 miles on Kennebec Road to Old County Road South (dirt) on the left at the top of hill. From other direction on Kennebec Road, go one mile past Piper Mountain Christmas Tree Farm to Old County Road South on the right. Follow signs to park.
