PORTLAND — The opiate epidemic is devastating our communities, and we must work together to fight it. You can learn how to save a life and give hope to those in recovery by attending a free training event, 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, at Dana Center Auditorium, Maine Medical Center. You will learn about the crisis, how to recognize signs of an overdose, and how to administer first aid — including the use of Narcan to reverse an overdose. This event is sponsored by Rotary District 7780 Recovery Initiative Committee and the City of Portland Public Health Division’s Overdose Prevention Project. Free and open to the public.
