DEXTER — Dexter Fish and Game Ice Fishing Derby will be held 6 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, and 6 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, at Lake Wassookeag, Route 23, with Knights of Columbus Hall, 102 Main Street Hill, as headquarters. Preregistration 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, at headquarters. Registration starts at 5:45 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19. Entry fee of $10 includes an arm’s length of raffle tickets. Raffle tickets are $5 for an arm’s length, which does not include entry or door prizes. Derby trophies, prizes and raffles will be awarded at 5 p.m. Sunday at Knights of Columbus. Cash prizes and trophies for first and second places in the categories of salmon, bass, brook trout, pickerel, yellow perch (for kids under 16) and trophy for first kid under 16 to register fish. Cash prize of $500 for biggest fish to beat the record from last four derbies, as recorded by Dexter Fish and Game. Prizes requiring derby entry ticket, but need not be present to win: Henry H010B Big Boy 4570, Henry 308 Single Shot H015, Henry H015 44, Henry H015 223 and Smith and Wesson EZ 380. Door prize of Eskimo Fatfish portable ice shack requires entry ticket and must be present to win.
