OLD TOWN — Hirundo Wildlife Refuge is holding an all day all-in-one yoga, skiing and wildlife observation event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5 at 1107 W Old Town Rd. Join us at Hirundo with naturalist/guide Gudrun Keszöcze, Master Maine Guide and instructor Karen Francoeur from Castine Kayak Adventures and Certified Yoga Instructor/nature lover Isis Bell-Smith.
In the warmth of the cabin, Isis will lead us through a simple practice focusing on yoga for skiing. It will improve our movement, flexibility and resilience before and after our ski lesson.
Learn tips, tricks and techniques of classic skiing to refine your skiing abilities so you can embrace all that Maine winters have to offer. All levels welcome. Follow Karen’s lead through skills and drills along the trail. Wildlife CSI – hone and share your observation skills. Gain interpretation skills of wildlife signs with support from Gudrun. Knowing where to look and how to see can enrich all your outdoor adventures!
Enjoy your lunch (BYOL) next to the crackling fire in Hirundo’s Parker Reed Cabin by the pond, while learning about equipment differences before heading out on the trail.
Tickets are $30, available at www.hirundomaine.org.
