ROCKLAND — Winter Solstice Yoga and Live Cello will be held 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, at The Dancing Elephant, 16 School St., with Taylor Ackerman and Robin Lane as hosts. The program is open to the public by donation. Experience and preregistration are not required; kindly arrive 5-10 minutes early to the event.
The Winter Solstice is a time of turning toward the light. A special yoga class will feature live cello music and candlelight. Come experience synchronicity of breath, rhythm, and gentle yoga flows. The practice will end with a deep relaxation to soothing cello sounds. Everyone is welcome; no previous yoga experience is required.
Taylor Ackerman has been practicing yoga since 2008, and she was trained in Hatha Yoga at Ashiyana Yoga Center in Goa, India in 2011. She encourages awareness of the mind-body connection in her classes. Robin Lane is a classically trained cellist who branches out into jazz, blues, electronic/digital, and more. He uses his music to provoke conscious thought, bringing peace to the mind of the individual, society, and the environment in which we live in.
The Dancing Elephant is a community center for yoga, meditation, and art located in downtown Rockland. The programs are donation-based and available for all levels. For information, visit www.rocklandyoga.com or contact Cynthia Trone at firstname.lastname@example.org or 207-594-1694.
