HAMPDEN — Hampden Historical Society will hold a fundraising event 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 20, at Angler’s Restaurant in Hampden. Angler’s Restaurant will generously provide a percentage of the evening proceeds to the Hampden Historical Society in support of its Our History Lives Here Capital Campaign.
The Society’s capital campaign will fund construction of a new archival wing and address much needed interior and exterior repairs to its Kinsley House Museum and Archive. Fundraising efforts to date have raised $403,000 of a $500,000 goal. Groundbreaking for Phase I of the project was held on August 6th and construction of the new archival wing is underway. But there is still much to be done with regard to fundraising and members continue to reach out to supporters in the community.
The Hampden Historical Society is a completely volunteer non-profit organization which is dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the culture and heritage of the Town of Hampden. While currently closed for renovation, the Society continues to hold its monthly meetings at 7 p.m. on the fourth Monday of each month through October. Meetings are being held at the Hampden Kiwanis Center. All meetings are open to the public.
