Fish, fish and more fish! The Maine Forest and Logging Museum in Bradley is having a tremendous run of alewives up Blackman Stream heading to Chemo Pond. Come out for Alewife Day on Saturday, May 26th, 10-1 and see for yourself!
The family-friendly event will feature some smoked alewives, children’s activities, a chance to see the gas Lombard in action and more. Stop in the gift shop for admission of $3 for adults, children 12 and under are free.
Part of the fish restoration project in the Penobscot watershed, the alewife restocking in Davis, Holbrook and Chemo ponds has resulted in an ever-increasing number of alewives and blueback herring climbing the ladder in the center of the museum. There are very few places you can get so close to the fish!
