Comic Con II to feature artists, collectibles, gaming, cosplay

BAR HARBOR — The second annual Bar Harbor Comic Con set for 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at the Atlantic Oceanside Conference Center will feature a comedy and magic show, comic book artists, authors, vendors cosplay competitions, video gaming tournaments, a musical performance by the Crown Vics, and food and refreshments.

This replica of the original Adam West Batmobile will be among the featured exhibits. The Michael Conlon Productions 1966 Batmobile is a George Barris reproduction based on the iconic Batmobile seen on the syndicated TV show.

Magician Mark Pinkstens show is a send up of pop culture that just happens to feature magic and illusion. It has quickly become a standard at comic cons around New England.

Special Media Guest Jeff Kline, owner of Darby Pop Publishing, is the writer of over 40 animated shows like Transformers: Prime.

Mort Todd will attend as a Special Media Guest. He is an Editor of Crack Magazine, and his art graces music videos and album covers.

Maine illustrator and cartoonist Sean Moran will be set up at the event as well as, Maine comic writer and graphic artist Christopher Mills of Atomicpulp.com fame. Paul Pelletier, a Maine artist currently working on DC Comics Titians, Cyborg, and Aquaman will have a booth. He also worked on Marvels Guardian of the Galaxy, Hulks War, and SheHulk.

Jayson Stickney, SoulStrikeStudios, Maine Artist; Nicholas Anderson, author, writer, creator of Planet Ripple; Corn Apple, Maine artists and graphic designer Art Gowie; Adventure Awaits artist Jess LeClair; Hugh Martin Times, comic book illustrator and publisher; MemoryMaker Photography; Thomas Washburn Jr., Maine horror and suspense writer of Into Darkness, and The Witcher; Duane E, Coffill, Maine suspense and horror writer of Dark Vision, and The Path; Nor’Easter Gaming Expo which will host an open PC and console gaming tournament; Maine Association of Cosplay which is organizing a Cosplay DEATH MATCH; Ancientalienexpert.com which prints out custom science fiction and fantasy PhD diplomas; and Cemetery Theater of Bangor and the film group SLEEPEATERS.

Others include: Eric Bousquet, a buyer and seller of magic cards and more; Northeast Collectibles of Brewer, seller of comics, toy collectables and more; Top Shelf Comics of Bangor selling comics, stamps, and coins; JT Burton of Bar Harbor, buyer and seller of vintage and modern comics books; Erics Toys and Collectables; Neko-jin Designs, custom apparel, bags and nerdy accessories; Cheeky Monkey, Nerdom handcrafted apparel and accessories; Noeaster Gaming Expo, hosting PC and Console gaming; and the Downeast Gamers Guild hosting Warhammer 40k and Shadespire.
