The Eastport Arts Center will offer a marbling workshop on Sunday, November 6, from noon to 2 pm. Marbling is the art of printing multi-colored swirled or stone-like patterns on paper or fabric. Instructor Chris Grannis will teach participants how these patterns are formed and guide them through making their own one-of-a-kind artworks. Each participant will have a paper and a silk project to take home.
Chris has been dabbling with various methods for marbling for two decades, driven by her love of surface design. She has been refining her current method for ten years, and is happy to share the results of her experimentation thus far.
The workshop is intended for participants age 12 and up; the $15 fee includes materials; space is limited to 6 participants. Preregistration is required. Please email Alison at alison@eastportartscenter.org or call (207) 454-8822 to sign up, or with questions.
The Eastport Arts Center is at 36 Washington Street, Eastport, and at www.eastportartscenter.org, and is handicapped-accessible.
