What legal marijuana means for Maine

Maine Professionals for Regulating Marijuana (MPRM) is a coalition which supports a robust regulatory environment of legal medical and adult use marijuana. The coalition took no stance on Question 1 but will continue to advocate for an industry which focuses on quality, safety and transparency. MPRM is a collection of Maine professional representing a wide range of Maine businesses and organization including financial professionals, real estate agents, the legal community and marijuana dispensaries.

With the apparent passage of Question 1 we know what the law says but there are also numerous major substance rules the legislature and the administration will have to grapple with in the upcoming session. The Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce has invited MPRM President Toby McGrath, of Drummond Woodsum Strategic Consulting, and Ted Kelleher and Hannah King of Drummond Woodsum’s Regulated Substances Group to provide insight into this new projected $220m industry. They will discuss the potential of the industry, the regulations enacted by voters, what still needs to be determined and what this means for Maine businesses.
