The following list of famous films were made substantially on-location in Washington State or Oregon:  An Officer and a Gentleman (’82), 10 Things I Hate About You (’99), The Ring (’02), Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me (’92), The Postman (’97), War Games (’83), The Vanishing (’93), Men of Honor (’00), The Hand that Rocks the Cradle (’92), Enough (’02), Three Fugitives (’89), Mad Love (’95), The Hunted (’03), Practical Magic (’98), Short Circuit (’86), Benny & Joon (’93), about 1/2 of Sleepless in Seattle (’93), and Snow Falling on Cedars (’99).

An interesting Maine Connection to “Snow Falling on Cedars” is that the lighthouse scene in the movie is shot at Portland Head Light.

“Twilight” was shot on-location primarily in the states of Washington and Oregon.  The ironic thing is that the sequel to “Twilight,” “New Moon,” is shot mostly in Canada instead of Washington/Oregon.

(information compliments of a lot of research on imdb.com)
