AROOSTOOK COUNTY — University of Maine Cooperative Extension’s hands-on food preservation workshop will teach you the basics of canning, freezing, and drying garden produce, including water bath and pressure canning. Learn from the experts.
We will provide fresh produce and canning jars. Cost: $25 per person. ($10 processing fee will be retained in case of “no-show”. Full refund if notified at least 24 hours prior to workshop.) The $25 fee includes materials.
HOULTON: 6-9 p.m. Tuesdays, July 9 and 16 at Houlton Regional Hospital, 20 Hartford St.
MADAWASKA: 6-9 p.m. Wednesdays July 10 and 17 at Madawaska Safety Complex, 428 Main St.
PRESQUE ISLE: 6-9 p.m. Thursdays July 11 and 8 at UMaine Cooperative Extension, 57 Houlton Road. Register online (Pre-registration is required and class size is limited) at extension.umaine.edu.
