As part of the Aroostook CA$H Coalition, United Way of Aroostook is sorry to announce it has suspended its free tax prep services until further notice due to the COVID-19 virus.

Based on recommendations for senior citizens to avoid gatherings of 10 or more, the coalition officials decided to suspend services indefinitely as 70 percent of their clients fall into that demographic and most of the tax team volunteers do as well.

“We realize this is a huge inconvenience to the people we serve, but we are committed to keeping our clients and volunteers safe and reduce their health risks,” said Athena Hallowell, program & volunteer coordinator for United Way of Aroostook.

United Way and H&R Block support an online filing service that is free for state and federal taxes.  The site is myfreetaxes.com.
