UMA, Bangor Campus to Participate in Community Events on October 18 and 19

Bangor, Maine – The University of Maine at Augusta (UMA), Bangor campus, will participate in several events aimed at supporting charitable causes in the greater Bangor area.
On Tuesday, October 18, UMA Bangor will host an event aimed at addressing food insecurity, organized by Colleen Coffey. Entitled Rock the Truck, the event will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Eastport Hall parking lot on the campus of the UMA Bangor, 1 University Drive, Bangor. The event is aimed at raising awareness of food insecurity. Information about food insecurity will be offered by community agencies.
On Wednesday, October 19, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Bangor Public Library, 145 Harlow Street, Bangor, Kati Corlew, Assistant Professor of Psychology at UMA, will join a panel discussion on food insecurity and wages co-sponsored by Food and Medicine, Faith Linking and Action, and the Eastern Maine Labor Council. Dr. Corlew will discuss the cognitive impacts of food insecurity.
