BAR HARBOR, Maine — The St. Saviour’s Festival Choir will present a program of sacred music for Lent at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 6, at the church, 41 Mount Desert St. The featured work is Mozart’s Missa Brevis in F, K. 192, which will be accompanied by a string ensemble and organ. Works by Mendelssohn, Bairstow and Bob Chilcott also will be performed.
Directed by Julia Morris-Myers, the Festival Choir is made up of members of St. Saviour’s Parish Choir as well as singers from area communities. Soloists will include soprano Marsha Lyons, contralto Pamela Smith, tenor Jay Emlen and basses Geoff Knowles and Paul Bartels.
The concert has no admission charge, but donations will be gratefully received. This program is made possible by the generosity of St. Saviour’s Friends of Music.
