WDAM’s Inaugural Radio Show featuring Spectrum’s Down Home Memory Players
Honorary Chair Charles Richards and Gala Chair Kate McCormick invite you to put on your fancy summer frocks and dapper duds as we take a trip back to the golden years of radio with games, ads and auction items. Musicians and actors playing old radio stars of the 1930’s and 40’s will perform vintage radio scripts, adapted by Mike and Beth Rowe and friends for you, our “live studio audience”.

The Canine Good Citizen (CGC) program was designed to help pet owners feel confident that their dog is trained well enough to enjoy accompanying them out in public. AARP SMART DRIVER COURSE

SEA KAYAKING FUNDAMENTALS
A three-hour sea kayaking class, on Muscongus Bay, for beginners or those that need a bit more practice to get back out on the water. Mitch, owner of Mid-Coast Kayak and a registered Maine Guide will discuss weather and tides, route/trip planning, and safety gear. Learn the forward, reverse, and sweep strokes and then practice while exploring. Emphasis will then be placed on self and assisted rescues. Gather at Muscongus Harbor, two miles north of Round Pond Village on Route 32 at 12:45 pm.

THINGS STRING: Violin Lessons Are Not Just Kids’ Stuff
Have you ever dreamed of playing the violin? Or reconnecting with the violin that you used to play? According to experts on aging, learning to play a musical instrument is one of the best things that you can do for your brain. It is also a lot of fun, and not too late to start! Spectrum Generations is now offering private violin lessons with classically trained and experienced teacher Athena Taylor. All levels are welcome – no previous musical training is required. Students will receive one hour of private instruction per week. Lessons will be scheduled on an individual basis. The focus of the lessons will be on acquiring the skills necessary for playing together with other musicians. No violin? Athena will discuss rental options when you schedule your class.
