Seashore Trolley Museum’s 16th Annual Pumpkin Patch Trolley, on the last two weekends of September, will have activities to please kids, adults and foodies.

Rain or shine, on September 20, 21 and 27, 28 – from 10 am to 3 pm – Seashore Trolley is the place to celebrate fall with streetcar rides to the pumpkin field, pumpkin decorating and games for the kids. Adults can enter either or both of the recipe competitions held on the two Saturdays of the event.

On Saturday, September 20, contestants in the Shipyard Pumpkinhead Ale Recipe Contest will offer tastings of entries that include Pumpkinhead Ale as an ingredient. Each category (Bread/dessert; Soup/chili/stew; appetizer/salad; and Meat/poultry/fish) will have a first and second place winner. All prizes are provided by Shipyard Brewing Company. A People’s Choice and a Grand Prize – a year’s worth of beer – will also be awarded.

On Saturday, September 27, the Pumpkin Dessert Recipe Contest returns. First, second, and third place prizes will be provided by King Arthur Flour. Entries will be offered for sale after judging is complete.

Children in grades 3 through 7 are eligible to enter the Seashore Trolley Museum Autumn Poetry Contest For Kids. Winning entries will be selected from Grades 3-5 and Grades 6-7. Winners will be announced on September 27, 2014. Every child entering the contest will receive a pass to visit the Museum during Pumpkin Patch Trolley.

Rules and entry forms for all three contests can be found at trolleymuseum.org or at facebook.com/pumpkinpatchtrolley.
