PORTLAND, Maine — Putney Inc., a rapidly growing pharmaceutical company focused on the development and sale of generic prescription medicines for pets, continues to expand its sales team with the addition of Elizabeth Potter as Senior Director of Key Accounts and Judi Wade as Distributor Sales Manager. Both Potter and Wade will partner with Putney’s inside sales team to support the unique business needs of distributors and large veterinary practices.

Wade’s career in animal health includes tenures as territory sales manager and national account training manager with Fort Dodge Animal Health and national account manager in distribution sales with Merck & Co., where she tripled revenues with one of her distribution partners in just twelve months. Wade says her success comes from working closely with distributors to develop a real partnership.

“Putney puts their customers first. We know that veterinarians across the country want access to Putney’s products and we’re working to expand our distributor network by aligning business objectives, providing technical support and conducting training,” says Wade in a press release.

Potter’s 20-year career in sales is distinguished by her proven ability to launch new products and build customer satisfaction. In positions of increasing responsibility with Thomson Reuters Corporation, Potter developed regional sales strategies for existing and emerging markets, winning several internal awards for exceeding sales goals and developing new business. She says the transition from human generics to animal health is exciting and Putney is a good fit for her.

“My success in sales is based on customer service, one of the cornerstones of Putney’s business philosophy. I enjoy building relationships with my customers, understanding their needs and matching those needs to a solution,” says Potter.

Jean Hoffman, president and CEO of Putney, says the addition of Potter and Wade will help Putney deepen veterinarian relationships. “Both Judi and Beth have proven expertise in developing customer relationships and growing new markets. They’ll work to overcome branded pharmaceutical company blocking agreements so that all veterinarians have access to Putney’s FDA approved veterinary generic products,” says Hoffman.

Putney is a pharmaceutical company committed to providing high quality, cost-effective generic medicines for pets. Putney’s reliable supply of affordable drug options empowers veterinarians, allowing them to provide the best possible medicine at the best possible price, and supports pet owners, helping them afford to comply with veterinary recommendations. Putney’s ongoing investment in research and development is focused on creating the next generation of generic veterinary products based on inputs from companion animal veterinarians and its industry partners.
