From the Executive Director, Denise Buzzelli:
Each year, the Piscataquis Chamber of Commerce accepts nominations from around the region for The Piscataquis Chamber “Business of the Year” Award. Nominations pour in from community members/patrons, employees of nominated businesses, business owners, tourists, and more. Businesses are nominated for multiple reasons, such as excellent customer service, community involvement, friendliness, competitive pricing, unique products, and great selection, just to name a few.

Though Piscataquis County is the size of Connecticut, you will find fewer than eighteen thousand residents within its borders. The businesses here may not be as plentiful as one would encounter the Bangor or Augusta areas, but they are quality businesses. In fact, some have been recognized at state, regional, and even national levels because of their reputation for business excellence, superior products or community involvement.
This award is a wonderful way to recognize those businesses which have become an integral part of our daily lives, where we work, shop, eat, find entertainment, and more. The board of directors and I ask ANYONE who has a favorite business in our county to vote! This is your chance to tell us which businesses mean the most to you, and why, so that we can give them the recognition they deserve right here are home, where it matters most.

Nomination forms can be found here:, or by visiting the Chamber office @ 1033 South St. in Dover Foxcroft. Nomination forms can also be found on the Chamber website,, and Facebook page.

All nominations must be received by September 15th.
Criteria for B.O.Y. award is detailed on the form.

The Piscataquis Chamber looks forward to hearing from you!
