O’Leary is new co-curricular athletic administrator at Portland

PORTLAND, Maine — Robert O’Leary of Winthrop, Massachusetts, has been appointed the new co-curricular athletic administrator at Portland High School.

A former high school and college hockey player, he has coached several sports and served for the past four years as an athletic director in Massachusetts.

O’Leary played hockey at Saugus High School and Tabor Academy in Massachusetts and New England College in Henniker, New Hampshire. His college team won the ECAC East Championship.

O’Leary has coached high school hockey, baseball and girls tennis. He was the athletic director in his hometown of Saugus, Massachusetts last year and previously served three years in the same job in Winthrop. In 2011, the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association gave him an award for the athletic director in the state with five or less years of experience who has made the most significant contributions to his or her school, league, district and state.
