Of Thee I Sing

This free patriotic community concert is to benefit the Stockton Springs Community Church Steeple Fund. The Steeple Project is currently funded up to the Bell Section with only the Spire section remaining. The cost of this Spire section is $38,000. This community has done a wonderful job of backing this Steeple Project.. Thank You..

The musicians performing in this program are all residents of Stockton Springs.
Shawn Smith, trumpet, will be accompanied on the historic 1847 E. and G. G. Hook organ by Lorna Russell.
Lorna and her husband Carlton will perform an organ duet.
Diana Brookes Brown and Karen Hawthorne will play a flute duet accompanied by Martin Gottlieb on the piano.
Each flutist will also play a solo, Diana’s classical, and Karen’s jazz.
Martin will also accompany mezzo-soprano Mary Ann Whaley.
Soprano Bonita Brooks will offer “Songs of Inspiration and Hope”, a medley of pieces from musical theatre.
A Gospel medley will be presented by the Steeple Singers: Diana Brown, Ronda Nichols, Linda DeGroft, Lorna Russell, Douglas Crosby, Douglas Coffin, Carlton Russell, and Pastor Steve DeGroft.
Singer and songwriter George Skala will perform a set entitled “Americana”.
During the program the audience will be invited to participate in the singing of three patriotic songs: “My country ‘tis of thee”, “O beautiful for spacious skies” and, as a finale, the National Anthem.
On July 17th we will be lifting the Ornate Section and the Bell Section into place.
The Bell will ring again!
With your continuing support the Spire will point toward the Heavens
and this Stockton Springs Historical Steeple will be a Landmark once again.
