BANGOR — Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center has been named a “Best Hospital” in Maine by U.S. News & World Report. The 2019-2020 Best Hospital by Region or State ranking is based on a number of factors, including patient experience and satisfaction, clinical outcomes, patient safety, and other measures, according to the report.
“This honor is a testament to the breadth and depth of the services we offer,” said Tim Dentry, MBA, senior vice president and COO of Northern Light Health and interim president of Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center. “We are proud of the work we do each day to bring quality healthcare to the people of our region, and it is nice to be recognized in this way.”
The Medical Center earned a “high-performing” rating in four procedures or conditions, including abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, heart failure and knee replacement.
This is the latest in a string of recent awards presented to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center. In the past year, the hospital was named by Forbes as one of the best mid-size hospitals in the United States, and one of the Best Employers for Women.
