FORT KENT — Robin Damboise, Northern Maine Medical Center’s director of Human Resources, announced the nomination for the first quarter of 2018 for NMMC’s Employee of the Quarter honoree. Candidates who are nominated for the Employee of the Quarter award must meet rigorous performance requirements in order to be considered by the selection committee.
Diane Ouellette, Certified Nursing Assistant, C.N.A., at Forest Hill Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center, was selected by her peers for the award based on her extraordinary commitment to providing individualized care to the residents she cares for each day. The nomination described Ouellette as consistently going above and beyond in an effort to learn the unique preferences and interests of Forest Hill residents.
Ouellette completed the C.N.A. program 18 years ago and she has been employed in long-term and skilled nursing care at Forest Hill for the entire time.
Ouellette said, “It’s all about the residents” and refers to them as members of her own family.
Forest Hill Director of Nursing, Mary Ann Desjardins said, “Diane provides an extremely important role in caring for our elderly population and she does so with such caring and compassion.” The nomination also spoke highly of Ouellette’s positive attitude and strong support of the team approach in ensuring that residents are surrounded with a homelike atmosphere.
Ouellette resides in New Canada with her husband. Outside of her full time job, she enjoys snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and walking. The honoree will receive a monetary gift from Northern Maine Medical Center and the medical staff for her performance excellence and her photo will be displayed on a plaque in a public place of recognition.
