Post Date:

BANGOR, Maine == National Night Out will be held 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, at Stillwater Park, Howard Street, Bangor.

Bangor’s National Night Out is a collaborative effort between the West Side and East Side Neighborhood Watch Groups, the Bangor Police Department and the evening’s nationwide sponsor, Target. We are one of over 15,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. Territories, Canadian cities and military bases worldwide to participate in National Night Out. National Night Out is an annual event designed to strengthen communities by encouraging neighborhoods to engage in stronger relationships with each other and with local law enforcement. The goal is to heighten crime/drug-prevention awareness, generate awareness of and participation in our local neighborhood watch programs, foster neighborhood spirit and solidarity, and most importantly, send a message to criminals that criminal and drug activity will not be tolerated in our neighborhoods!

Residents are asked to turn on porch lights Tuesday, August 5th from 6-8pm in support of West Side Watch, East Side Watch and National Night Out.

Let’s show our solidarity in our fight against crime in our neighborhoods!
